Motorcyclist crushed by tractor trailer making wide right turn


A motorcyclist was hospitalized Friday after a crash with a tractor trailer in Standish.

Police say the crash happened around 3:48 p.m. on Route 35 at the intersection with Middle Jam Road. The tractor trailer involved in the crash was making a wide right turn onto Middle Jam Road.

Police say 60-year-old Raymond Taylor of Standish was attempting to pass the tractor trailer on the right when he was crushed in the collision. According to our CBS13 news partners, Taylor was taken to Maine Medical Center with significant injuries.

Investigators say driver inattention and improper passing played a role in the crash.

The crash is still under investigation.
