A motorcyclist is dead and a passenger has critical injuries from a crash with an SUV in Sebago Wednesday evening.

Cumberland County deputies say 63-year-old Ernest Poulos of Sebago was riding a 2004 Harley Davidson motorcycle westbound on Convene Road at about 6 pm, when he crossed the center line and hit a 2004 Chevy Tahoe being driven by 59-year-old Thomas Nolan of Standish.

Poulos and his passenger, 62-year-old Mary Delaney of Sebago, suffered life threatening injuries.

Poulos was taken by Naples Rescue to Bridgton Hospital to meet a Life Flight helicopter but died upon arrival at the hospital. Delaney was flown by LifeFlight to Maine Medical Center and remains in critical condition. Neither were wearing helmets.

Tahoe Driver Nolan suffered only minor injuries. Both the motorcycle and SUV were totaled.

Deputies say speed appears to be a factor in this crash, and it remains under investigation.

They say no photographs of the crash scene are being released because of nature of the scene.
