A motorcyclist has life-threatening injuries from a crash with an SUV Thursday afternoon in Auburn.

Police say 74-year-old  Sandra Wallingford emerged from a parking lot onto Minot Avenue and did not see an approaching motorcycle, which hit her SUV on the driver’s side.

The motorcycle driver, 62-year-old Norman Lizotte of Mechanic Falls, was pinned under the vehicle and had to be extricated.

Lizotte was taken to Central Maine Medical Center with life-threatening injuries while Wallingford had minor injuries and was treated at the scene.

Minot Avenue was temporarily closed in both directions while emergency crews worked at the scene, and officers investigated the crash.
Auburn Police say the crash remains under investigation. The crash took place at about 4:45 pm Thursday.
