Multiple injuries following rollover crash in Freeport

A rollover crash in Freeport Friday morning sent four people to the hospital.

Public safety spokesperson Shannon Moss says the crash happened around 7 a.m. on I-295 in Freeport. 29-year-old Edison Uscha-Roto of South Portland was behind the wheel of a white GMC work van when he went off the roadway for an unknown reason.

The vehicle struck the crossover and rolled over before coming to a rest and blocking a lane. Construction tools and equipment were strewn across the roadway.

Police said Uscha-Roto was driving with a suspended license. He and three passengers were taken to Maine Medical Center with non-life-threatening injuries.

A northbound lane was closed to traffic for nearly two hours.

The crash is under investigation.
