Prosecutors have reportedly withdrawn a murder indictment against a man accused in the 2008 killing of a man in Portland.

It’s because the suspect was a minor when it happened.

Khang Tran, 30, was 15 when Frank Willims was killed.

CBS 13 reports that Williams got into a fight with a group of men and was chased to the Fox Street soccer field, where he was beaten and stabbed multiple times.

Tran and Shane Hill, 36, were indicted for the crime last month.

Tran is currently in federal prison in Louisiana on drug charges.

He’s expected to be released in March and then return to Maine to finish out a four-year sentence for his role in the death of Matthew Blanchard in Portland in 2012.

According to the Portland Press Herald, the attorney general’s office could still file charges against Tran through the juvenile system, and then have a hearing to see if he can be tried as an adult.
