Kittery  (WGAN)  During her inaugural speech Governor Janet Mills said the signs greeting visitors should read “Welcome Home” rather than “Open for Business”.

It’s now a reality, as, Maine Turnpike Authority workers put up the new sign in Kittery.

The sign is constructed of recycled aluminum. The governor’s office said the cost to put up the sign was minimal.

Mills says the sign is intended as an effort to welcome everyone to the state as a place to visit and live and locate a business.
