No threat found after soft lockdown at Lake Region High School

A Naples high school was placed in a soft lockdown on Tuesday after students and staff reported an unfamiliar person in the school.

The school resource deputy at Lake Region High School identified the juvenile after he was reported around 9:30 a.m.

He was seen wearing all black and carrying a backpack. The officer confirmed that he was not a threat.

The juvenile was issued a trespass order and released to a guardian. No one was injured and no criminal charges were filed.

The sheriff’s office praised the school community for reporting suspicious activity promptly.
