A Maine dairy company is donating money to launch an after-school meal program.

The Portland Press Herald reports that Oakhurst Dairy is donating $300,000 to the program, which will benefit up to 200 schools.

Oakhurst is partnering with Full Plates Full Potential, a nonprofit that aims to reduce childhood hunger.

Governor Janet Mills says the program “will provide nutritious meals outside of school to thousands more children across Maine, helping them to live healthier lives and positioning them for greater success.”
