Officials offer $6,000 reward for information about bass fish illegally placed in Maine lake

A $6,000 reward is available for anyone with information about the illegal introduction of largemouth bass to a Maine lake.

The Maine Warden Service says the fish was brought into West Musquash Lake near Topsfield in Washington County.

Wardens say the fish will impact the lake’s ecosystem, competing with its native species.

Anyone with information about those responsible is asked to leave a tip through Operation Game Thief, which you can do by calling 1-800-ALERT-US or by visiting maineogt.org.
