The state of Maine has published estimated vaccination rates for students in each school district, with the start of the school year right around the corner.

On Tuesday, Maine’s Department of Health and Human Services and Department of Education shared the first of an ongoing series of updates that will be published every two weeks.

The numbers were collected among kids ages 12-18, who are eligible for a shot, by using ZIP code data and the number of children who have received at least one dose of a COVID-19 vaccine.

The data varies broadly from district to district, with some as low as 20% and others at 95% or above.

Cutler and Lisbon Public Schools were among the lowest, with their rates in the 20% range. At Portland Public Schools, the largest district in the state, 85-89% of students in the relevant age group have gotten at least a first dose.
