LIBERTY, Maine (AP) State police in Maine say a 55-year-old man was killed when his pickup truck was struck by a box truck in Liberty during a snowstorm.

Police say the crash took place in front of Lake St. George State Park at about 9:30 a.m. Tuesday and killed William Chadwick of Oakland. They say the box truck was operated by 20-year-old Dusan Dokic of Spanaway, Washington, who was not injured.

Police say they are still investigating why the crash took place. They say the crash happened during a morning snowstorm, but they haven’t determined if that played a role in it.

Police say traffic on Route 3 had to be detoured around the crash site.
