One Killed, Two Injured in Crash

HANCOCK, Maine (WGAN)  State Police say an elderly man from the Town of Hancock died Sunday afternoon in his hometown following a two-car crash on Route 1.

93-year-old Joseph Ryan died shortly after arrival at the Northern Light Mid Coast Hospital.

The two occupants of the second car were also transported to the hospital, both with non life threatening injuries.

The driver was 53-year-old Michel Taccyl and his passenger was 56-year-old Noel Antenord, both from Jonesport.

The crash closed that section of Route 1 for 2 1/2 hours Sunday and was reported at 11:30 am.
