One person is critically injured after a two vehicle crash in Hallowell on Saturday afternoon.

Police say a three-wheeled open-air vehicle on Whitten Road passed a line of cars, and hit an oncoming SUV  that was making a left-hand turn into the Ice Arena.

Officers say two people in the three-wheeler were taken to a hospital, with the driver listed in critical condition.

They say the two people in the SUV took themselves to the hospital.

The Hallowell PD is investigating the crash with assistance from the Maine State Police Traffic Safety Unit, which is conducting a crash reconstruction.
