One person injured after pickup collides with oil truck in Hiram

HIRAM, Maine (WGAN) A pickup truck burst into flames after colliding with an oil truck in Oxford County early Thursday.

The Oxford County Sheriff’s Office says a teenage boy was behind the wheel of the pickup when it crossed the center line and hit the oil truck on Pequawket Trail in Hiram around 7 a.m.

The teen from Parsonsfield was not injured. The oil truck driver, a 59-year-old man from Fryeburg, suffered a leg injury.

A crew from the Department of Environmental Protection was at the scene to clean up a fuel leak from the oil truck.

The crash is under investigation.
