OSHA levies fines for deadly Farmington propane blast

FARMINGTON, Maine (WGAN) The Occupational Safety and Health Administration has fined two Maine companies for violations related to a deadly propane blast in Farmington.

According to the Sun Journal, OSHA levied fines against LEAP Inc., the non-profit housed in the building that was destroyed in the explosion in September. That explosion killed Fire Captain Michael Bell and injured several others. A maintenance worker was also critically injured.

The fine against LEAP, totaling over $12,000, is for general health and safety regulations.

Another fine was levied against Techno Metal Post, for over $4,000, for similar violations.
