Owl Rescued on Lake West of Augusta

Monmouth Police

Police in Monmouth, west of Augusta, say an injured owl is recovering after they found it tangled in a fishing line.

Officers say they found the barred owl along Annabessacook Lake Saturday morning.

They say it was tangled in a fishing line with a hook in its wing.

Police say a resident helped an officer, Officer Mandella, to rescue the owl, which was taken to Avian Haven bird rehabilitation center for medical treatment.
