A 20-year-old Maine man has been charged after police say he led them on a chase in Oxford on Thursday.

Oxford Police say officers spotted a vehicle with multiple inspection and registration violations on Skeetfield Road Thursday morning. They said the vehicle sped off after they tried to pull it over.

Police say the driver, 20-year-old Dawson Bond of Oxford, was passing vehicles erratically during the chase, hitting one vehicle and then speeding off again.

Bond lost control of the vehicle and crashed into a driveway on Fore Street before he was taken into custody.

He faces several charges and is being held at Oxford County Jail.
