The parents of an 11-month-old girl have been arrested after the child nearly died of a drug overdose last weekend in Corinna.

The Penobscot County Sheriff’s Office says 22-year-old Taezja DiPietro and 26-year-old Zachary Borg were arrested after officials received a call last Saturday about a child suffering a medical event.

When they arrived, the child was in cardiac arrest. According to our news partners, CBS 13, the girl was taken to the Sebasticook Valley Hospital in Pittsfield, where she was successfully resuscitated and stabilized.

She was then flown by helicopter to Northern Light Eastern Maine Medical Center in Bangor.

Deputies say an investigation revealed that there was fentanyl in several rooms of the home, including in the child’s bedroom.

DiPietro and Borg were charged with aggravated furnishing drugs to a minor, domestic violence reckless conduct with a dangerous weapon, endangering the welfare of a child and possession of a Class W drug.
