A pedestrian was seriously injured after being hit by a vehicle in Cumberland.

Police say the pedestrian was struck by the vehicle around 7 p.m. Wednesday on Blackstrap Road.

The victim was taken to the hospital, and the road was closed for about three hours while investigators reconstructed the accident.

No further details about the crash or the pedestrian’s condition were immediately released.

The incident remains under investigation.
