Pedestrian injured after crash on I-95 in Newport


Police say a pedestrian was struck by a tractor-trailer on I-95 in Newport.

Public Safety Spokesperson Shannon Moss says the crash happened around 2:15 p.m. Tuesday near mile 157 southbound by the Palmyra town line.

A worker was placing cones on the highway for a paving project when a tractor-trailer struck the construction vehicle. The worker, 24-year-old Charles Miller of Enfield, was thrown from the construction vehicle and treated for non-life-threatening injuries.

The driver of the tractor-trailer, 38-year-old Boureima Dicko of Allentown, Pennsylvania, was not injured.
