Pedestrian struck and killed by pickup truck in Portland

PORTLAND, Maine (WGAN) Police in Portland are investigating a fatal crash involving a pedestrian and a pickup truck.

Spokesman David Singer says a man was pronounced dead at the scene after getting hit by the truck in the area of 557 Riverside Street a little before 3 a.m. Tuesday.

The truck was being driven by a 24-year-old Portland resident.

No charges had been filed Tuesday afternoon and no names were being released pending identification of the victim.

Anyone who may have witnessed the crash or has information is asked to contact Portland police.
