CLINTON, Maine (AP) – Authorities say three youths ages 12 to 15 were killed when a car driven by a teenager without a license hit ice and struck a tree in central Maine.

State police say the driver and an additional youngster were hurt in the crash Sunday morning in Clinton.

Authorities say the crash killed 15-year-old Thomas Porfirio, 14-year-old Emily Baker and 12-year-old Ashlin Baker, all of Clinton.

They say it injured a 12-year-old girl also from Clinton, along with the 16-year-old driver. His name was being withheld.

Authorities say driver inexperience and speed likely caused the crash.
