Bangor police say an officer was injured during a struggle with an armed man at a homeless encampment in the city.

According to the Bangor Daily News, police received a call Wednesday about a man brandishing a gun in a homeless encampment off Valley Avenue.

When officers arrived, they say they found the suspect hiding in a tree.

The BDN says at least one officer was hurt when they tried to arrest the suspect, who was identified as 37-year-old Trevor Lyons of Bangor.

He was arrested for criminal threatening and four outstanding warrants.

Police say they had previously tried to arrest Lyons at his Bangor home, but he evaded capture by hiding throughout the city, including in homeless encampments.

Police say more charges are possible.
