Police are asking for information after a crash in a work zone on I-95 in Pittsfield sent a construction worker to the hospital last week.

The crash happened Wednesday morning on the northbound side when a pickup truck hit a concrete Jersey barrier, causing a construction barrel to hit the worker, 56-year-old Richard Smart of Westfield.

Smart suffered serious but non-life-threatening injuries and has since been released from the hospital.

Police say the driver continued heading northbound without stopping.

The pickup truck was light-colored and towing a black dump trailer.

Police are asking for anyone with information about the pickup truck or the driver to contact the Bangor Regional Communications Center at 207-973-3700, extension 9, and ask for Trooper Klayton Peckham.
