Police are seeking help from the public in piecing together what led up to a crash in Clinton that left three young people dead.

Clinton police chief Stanley Bell said Monday he hopes individuals who had contact with the victims, including other young people, will call Clinton police or visit his department’s Facebook page.

According to police, the 16-year-old driver didn’t have a license and was speeding at the time of the crash.

Police are still considering whether to charge the driver, who was seriously hurt in the accident.

The single-vehicle crash on Hinckley Road took the lives of 14-year-old Emily Baker, her 12-year-old sister Ashlyn Baker and 15-year-old Thomas Porfirio.

A 12-year-old passenger also suffered serious injuries but survived the accident.

Bell tells the Portland Press Herald anyone with information on the crash should contact police as soon as possible.
