Police identify individuals hurt in crash following Jay robbery


Police have released the identities of two people who were seriously hurt in a car crash following a robbery in Jay this week.

The robbery occurred Tuesday night at the Label Shopper clothing store, off Routes 4 and 17.

An officer spotted the suspect’s vehicle, which pulled over, but then sped off and continued north on Main St., police say.

The officer pursued the vehicle until it crashed in North Jay.

Police say the driver of the car was 33-year-old Vanessa Gordon of Livermore Falls, who has a revoked license.

She suffered life-threatening injuries in the crash.

The passenger was identified as 38-year-old Joshua Allen of Farmington.

His injuries were serious but not life-threatening.

No updates on their conditions were provided by police Thursday morning.

Jay police are investigating the robbery, while Maine State Police investigate the crash.
