Police investigate crash that killed pedestrian in Auburn

One man was killed while trying to cross the street in Auburn.

Auburn police say the crash happened Thursday afternoon at the intersection of Minot Avenue and Madison Street.

Police said 20-year-old Alexandre Patterson was trying to cross Minot Avenue around 3:12 p.m. while pushing a bicycle when he was hit by the vehicle. The driver was identified as 63-year-old Steven Keene of Lewiston.

Patterson died after being rushed to the hospital.

Police said Friday the crash was still an active investigation and no other information was available.
