Threat cleared at Maine Medical Center following discovery of suspicious package

PORTLAND, Maine (WGAN) The front entrance at Maine Medical Center in Portland was closed Monday morning after officers were called in to investigate a suspicious package.

Portland police spokesperson David Singer confirmed Monday morning that the call to police came in around 8:40 a.m. The threat was cleared around 10:30 a.m. after the department’s Hazardous Devices Unit determined the package didn’t pose any threat.

No further details about the threat have been released.
