Police Looking for Stolen Car, Possible Burglary Suspect

CUMBERLAND, Maine (WGAN)  The Cumberland Police Department is warning residents to be on the lookout for a stolen car that may be casing homes to burglarize.

Police say a silver 2017 Jeep Grand Cherokee with Colorado license plate TQH146 has been seen several times in driveways around West Cumberland in the last 24 hours.  Police say the vehicle is reported stolen out of Colorado.  The operator/suspect is described as a black male in his mid-thirties.

Police say a homeowner on Skillin Road confronted the suspect inside the vehicle while it was parked in his driveway shortly after midnight.  The suspect fled before police arrived.

Police say if you see the Jeep to call 911.

They also say special attention should be given to homes with long driveways or homes that aren’t visible from the road.
