SANFORD, Maine (WGAN)  Police say a reward is being offered after arson and vandalism at the new Sanford High School that is under construction.

The fires were reported early Monday morning and put out quickly.  While damage from the fires was not reported to be severe, construction crews were already behind schedule to get the school open this fall and the incident may have pushed their timeline back.

Police say they, in conjunction with Hutter Construction, are offering a $1,000 reward for information that leads to the arrest of the person or persons responsible.

Anyone with information is asked to contact Detective Colleen Adams at (207) 324-9170 ext. 226 or by email at Cjadams@sanfordmaine.org.

Anyone wanting to leave a confidential tip can call (207) 324-9170 ext. 170.
