Police, OSHA to investigate fatal construction accident in Auburn

The death of a 21-year-old working to help install an inground pool in Auburn is being investigated as a workplace fatality.

Auburn police say the accident happened around 11:20 Thursday morning at a home on Danbury Drive.

The male victim, who was working with Prestige Pools, was trapped beneath an excavator and found unconscious when first responders arrived. Co-workers were attempting to revive him with CPR but he was pronounced dead at the scene.

Police say OSHA will also be investigating.

The names of those involved have not been released.
