Portland Police say they investigated three shootings over the course of 90 minutes on Memorial Day.

The department said officers were first called to the area of Park Avenue and Forest Street for a report of gunshots around 5:40 p.m. As they were investigating, a 19-year-old Saco man walked into Maine Medical Center with a gunshot wound. He had been shot by occupants of an SUV after he and his friends said they were filming a rap music video.

The involved vehicle was located by Wells police and was found to be stolen. Two juvenile males and two adult males were arrested after a pursuit.

The victim in that shooting was treated for non-life threatening injuries.

About twenty minutes later, a woman said she was shot at by people driving by in an SUV near Washington Avenue and Rainbow Mall Road with what police believe was an airsoft gun or similar type of weapon. The woman was not hit. Police say the shooting was similar to incidents which have been shared as part of a social media challenge.

Around 7 p.m., police responded to a report of a shot fired inside an apartment on Brackett St. Their investigation found that the resident negligently fired the gun. He was issued a summons for reckless conduct with a dangerous weapon.

Anyone with information about the first two incidents is being asked to contact Portland police.
