Police respond to deadly crash in Portland

Police say a 71-year-old woman is dead after a crash in Portland on Wednesday.

It happened around 11 a.m. in the area of 832 Brighton Avenue.

Portland Police Department spokesperson David Singer said the woman’s car struck a tree after colliding with other vehicles.

The victim was pronounced dead at the scene, and one other person was transported to the hospital with minor injuries.

Singer provided no further information in a news release that was issued Wednesday night, including the name of the victim.

He urged anyone who may have witnessed the accident to call the Portland Police Department.
