Police respond to single-vehicle dump truck crash in Standish

The driver of a dump truck that left the roadway and struck trees in Standish suffered only minor injuries.

Police responded to the crash on Bonny Eagle Road, or Rt. 35, around 11:30 a.m. Monday.

No other vehicles were involved in the crash. The dump truck driver, 64-year-old James Cawood of West Baldwin, crossed the oncoming lane and went off the road before coming to rest in a ditch.

Cawood was taken to Maine Medical Center for minor injuries.

The cause of the crash is under investigation.
