Police search for missing teen in Franklin County


KINGFIELD, Maine (WGAN) Police in Franklin County are asking for the public’s help finding a missing 15-year-old boy who ran away from his home in Kingfield on Monday.

Police say they received a report of an assault by a juvenile at a home on Hinckley Pit Road around around 10:53 a.m. Monday. The juvenile reportedly ran off into the woods.

Dustin Merrill had last been seen on Tufts Pond Road in Kingfield.

A K-9 tracked Merrill into the woods, then lost his scent.

His family says Merrill was wearing jeans, a long-sleeve blue t-shirt and gray sneakers. He’s 5′ 6″, weighing between 85 and 90 pounds, with blonde hair and brown eyes.

Anyone with information is asked to call the Franklin County Sheriff’s Office at 207 778-2680.
