Police: Woman Tried to Bail Out Boyfriend While Intoxicated

ALFRED, Maine (AP)   Police in Maine say a woman who they say was trying to provide bail for her boyfriend while she was intoxicated has been taken into custody.

Police say the 38-year-old woman was arrested Friday after she drove into an off-limits area of the York County Jail complex in Alfred. WGME-TV reports a deputy pulled the woman aside and determined she appeared to be intoxicated.

Police also say the woman was driving with a suspended license for a previous intoxicated driving charge. The York County Sheriff’s Office says police transported the woman to the nearby jail where she was charged.

The woman posted bail and is scheduled to appear in court in April.
