Popular Market/Bakery Closing Munjoy Hill Location

Rosemont Market and Bakery is closing its Munjoy Hill location in Portland’s East End (88 Congress St.) at the end of the month after 17 years.

The business says its shutting the space because its tight quarters have challenged operations over time.

Rosemont Market owners say all staff at the Munjoy Hill spot will be guaranteed positions one of their six other locations in Greater Portland.

They thanked customers and left open the possibility of relocating somewhere else in the Portland pennisula area.

This decision wasn’t easy, but operational challenges in the store’s smaller space have grown over time, the Rosemont Market said in a statement. ” While this chapter is closing, we’re hopeful for the future and will continue to explore opportunities for a larger space on the Peninsula.”

Rosemont Market and Bakery has other locations in South Portland, Falmouth, Cape Elizabeth, Freeport, Scarborough, Yarmouth and Cumberland Center.
