Portland burglaries may be connected to similar crimes throughout Northeast, police say

Portland police are investigating a pair of burglaries that may be connected to a string of similar break-ins across the northeast.

Interim Police Chief Heath Gorham said Monday that the suspects posed as food delivery drivers to case the Portland homes before breaking in, just like the other burglaries.

According to the Portland Press Herald, police believe the suspects are from out of state.

They said they’re traveling in a white BMW with Colorado license plate number KYO765.

Gorham said the suspects may be targeting the homes of Asian small business owners.

The victims in Portland are Asian, but said Gorham said he wasn’t sure if that was the case for all the other victims.
