Portland man accused of threatening group of bystanders with a shotgun

Portland Police have arrested a man accused of punching another man and pointing a shotgun at several people.

Police say the incident happened around 1 a.m. Wednesday on Forest Avenue. Witnesses told officers that 41-year-old Zachary Bowman of Portland became angry when bystanders tried to stop him from driving while impaired.

Witnesses said Bowman assaulted one person, then pulled a shotgun from his vehicle and pointed it at the group.

Bowman is charged with assault and criminal threatening with a dangerous weapon.

Anyone with information about the incident is being asked to call police.
