Portland Man Injured in Shooting Late Tuesday

PORTLAND, Maine (WGAN)  Portland Police say one person suffered life threatening injuries after a shooting late Tuesday night.

Police say a 45-year-old Portland man was shot during an altercation on Oxford Street near Elm Street around 10:30 p.m. last night.

Police say an officer was in the area and heard the gunshot.  Police say the officer ran to the area and gave aid to the victim, who was then taken to Maine Medical Center.

Police say the suspect is still at large.
