The City of Portland said Wednesday morning that business owners should plan on following the rules surrounding the state’s newly extended stay-at-home order and the governor’s plan to reopen the economy.

City spokesperson Jessica Grondin said Mayor Kate Snyder will ask the city council to consider repealing the local stay-at-home order.

At Monday’s council meeting, Snyder will also urge councilors to “consider using the state’s guidance going forward.”

She says “Portland businesses ought to have the opportunities afforded Maine business owners and employees in light of the governor’s announcement” on Tuesday.
