PORTLAND, Maine (WGAN) Portland police say a man has been charged in connection with a string of burglaries in the city that started in July.

30-year-old Tim Toun was arrested following an attempted burglary at the Maine Historical Society on Congress Street on Wednesday. Police have now linked him to 8 other burglaries at businesses in the city, including the Bayside American Cafe, Squeaky Clean Laundry, the LB Kitchen, and Little Tap House.

Police say there are still several burglary investigations stemming from incidents over the past month that remain open.
