Portland PD report that they now have a person of interest after recovering a firearm they believe to be used in the PPD parking garage shooting on Sunday.

The firearm was recovered not too far from the scene, police say.

No one was injured in the shooting, occurring sometime around 10:30 Sunday night.

With the possible suspect, the PPD are continuing their investigation. They will be performing a search warrant on a suspect vehicle currently in police custody that may be linked to the shooter.

The shooter’s motivation is still unknown. However, PPD are on high alert due to the nature of the attack.

Police Chief Frank Clark stated:
“As you can imagine, this is very personal…Both to me, the officers here, to our profession and I think to the community as a whole, for what we represent here in the city. Coming at a time in which our police officers and others in the country are being broadly and directly vilified based on the actions of a few makes it even that much more concerning and demoralizing here for our department”
