Portland Police Investigate Bodies Found in Woods

Police in Portland have released the identities of two men found dead in the woods Monday morning.

Police say the bodies were found in the wooded area behind the Hannaford on Riverside Street around 7:40 a.m.

The bodies were identified as 57-year-old William Liese and 44-year-old Lee Thomas Johnson, who were both believed to be homeless.

An investigation to determine the circumstances of their deaths is underway, while the Medical Examiner’s Office works to establish a cause and manner of death.
