Portland Police Mourn Loss of Bomb Sniffing K-9

Portland Police are mourning the death of K9 Quincy, who recently died at the age of 16.

The department says Quincy worked with Officer Henry Small at the Portland Jetport from 2010 to 2020, until the pair retired.

They graduated from the TSA’s National Explosives Detection Canine Training Center at Lackland Air Force Base in San Antonio, Texas in December 2010.

Portland Police say Quincy was the longest-lived K9 in their history.

“Rest in peace, Quincy, and thanks to you and Officer Small for your service,” the department said in a statement on social media.
