PORTLAND (WGME)– A woman drove down the stairs in the Portland Police Departments garage after claiming she was ‘following her GPS instructions’ Friday night.

According to a Facebook post from the Portland Police Department, a 26-year-old woman drove through the garage, across the pedestrian plaza, then tried to drive down the stairs.

After being seen, officers are confident that it was her excessive blood alcohol level that led her down the stairs.

The woman has since been summonsed for OUI.

The departments wants to remind people to not drink and drive, knowing that it can led to dangerous situations not only for the driver but for others as well.
