Portland police search for hit-and-run driver after pedestrian suffers serious injuries

The Portland Police Dept. is looking for the driver of a vehicle that struck a pedestrian and sped away.

Police say a 41-year-old man was struck shortly before 9 p.m. Wednesday while crossing the road at Brighton Avenue and Taft Avenue.

The man suffered serious injuries and was taken to Maine Medical Center.

The car is described as a light to medium blue, newer model Honda CRV with significant front-end damage.

Anyone who may have witnessed the crash, or anyone who spots the vehicle, is asked to contact the Portland Police Department.
