Police are asking for the public’s help locating a reckless driver who nearly struck three Portland Park Rangers.

The city says three park rangers riding e-bikes followed by a city vehicle on Deering Avenue near Pitt Street were nearly struck by a car traveling in the opposite direction around 3:20 p.m. Thursday.

Witnesses said the car rapidly swerved at the rangers and continued in the wrong lane toward the city vehicle.

The vehicle, described as a small gray sedan, possibly with a dark gray stripe and no front plate, was last seen heading towards Woodford Street on Deering Avenue.

Anyone with information is asked to contact Portland police.
