PORTLAND, Maine (AP) The Portland Sea Dogs are embracing golf during the pandemic.

The team, an affiliate of the Boston Red Sox, announced it’s transforming Hadlock Field into a temporary golf course.

But it won’t be a traditional golf course.

Instead, it will be a nine-hole “target-style” golf course with participants teeing off at the skybox level to launch their golf balls.

It’s all part of the Sea Dogs’ efforts to stay connected with fans during the pandemic. The team previously made stadium staples, including hotdogs, peanuts and Cracker Jacks, available for takeout.
