Portland Stabbing Investigated

PORTLAND, Maine – A 29 year old man from Norway, Maine is recovering after being stabbed during a concert at the State Theater.
 
At approximately 11:11 PM on Sunday night, staff from the State Theater, approached a patrol officer notifying them that one of their patrons had been stabbed during a concert. Officers met with the victim in the lobby of the State Theater 609 Congress Street and found that he was suffering from at least one puncture wound. Officers provided first aid until an ambulance arrived and transported the man to Maine Medical Center. His injuries are not life threatening.
 
The victim and witnesses reported that the incident happened during the concert. The suspect is described as a white male between 28 to 33 years old. He is 5’08” to 5’11” tall with an average build and short black hair. He was clean shaven and wearing a collared jacket. Prior to the stabbing there was a dispute between the suspect and several others.
 
 
Police are working with the security staff at the State Theater to obtain any video footage that may have been captured during and after the incident. Anyone with information is asked to contact the Portland Police Department at 207-874-8575.
